I'm a holy man minus the holiness.--E. M. Forster

Sancte Michael Archangele,

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio;
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae Caelestis,
satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute in infernum detrude.
Amen.

I find this cool (even though it's about me!)

In early November, I got a DVT, basically two blood clots. They felt like the worst Charley Horse I had ever had. I didn't know I had it but eventually it felt better. I even set some PR's on CrossFit WODs.
That was until my wife saw that my left calf was visibly larger than my right. She had me go to the doctor, who diagnosed the DVT. I had to go spend a night in the hospital & go on blood thinners. Also, my workouts were limited to upper body stuff. I was surprised about how little I could do.
One of the things I worked on was my headstands. I could NEVER go them when I was a teenager. Thanks to Carl Paoli at the Gymnastics WOD, I was able to do it for the first time in my life this year.

Now on 17 Feb, my work Division had a bowling "Wingman day" outing. We HAVE to have these to promote the "Wingman Culture" to prevent us from committing suicide & such. Since I hadn't bowled in about 3 years, I didn't do well.

We had a Division call & the Acting Division Chief put up a slide on the results of the bowling outing which showed that I was the low scorer (for one game even though several other division management "declined" to participate).

After some goading by some people in the Division, I decided to put together a retort, because I'm just sick of being made fun of.

So I asked one of the contractors to take a picture of me in a headstand just as a part of a way to make a statement:

I told the person who took the picture that I wanted to do something "Unusual". She looked at me like I was nuts. But, when I showed her, she thought it was cool and asked if she could use it as part of a "Funny" things at work!

All right, I'm not a great bowler. But there are other things I can do that people my age can't! And that's okay with me!
